Matthew's Turn

It occurred to me the other day, this blog is supposed to be about both mine and Matthew's fitness journey. Yet Matthew has not written a single post. I have update you all on him, and posted pictures. But you haven't heard from him directly. So, today he is going to write his very first blog post :)

Hey, um.. I'm not this Toni person you know. I am her son, Matthew. This little exercising thing me and mom have been doing has helped me a lot. Well, I think it has. I never really liked exercising, well, I really REALLY don't like it. But, I have been sad about my weight, so I don't really have the right to complain. Literally. I don't have the right to complain. But still, I'm giving it my all, trying my best, and... well, gym class is over, so that means I have to... DUN DUN DUUUUNNNN! Exercise daily. I'm not looking forward to it at all. But I still have to do it. Speaking of gym, there was this long and complicated obstacle course, and... Lets say I felt like puking after the third time doing it. I really did wish I still had gym class this semester so that and zumba would be all the exercise I would get all week. But now I have computers. So, I can't really complain. Again. But, my life is going well, I have some good interests (cough Five Nights At Freddy's cough), and playing some good and cool games.

I've learned about eating until I'm full. Mom told me when I'm full, even if there's food on my plate, stop eating. I tried this trick where I drink a full glass of water without stopping(well, Mom gave me a glass of water and told me to drink it without stopping), and I didn't finish my plate! Probably because I could only taste 60% tap water. Speaking about food, we don't do diets. We still have junk food sometimes, and fast-food, and restaurant food, but she doesn't force me to eat tofu or vegetables everyday. We still do eat healthy though!

We took a body test on the Wii Fit today, and BOY OH BOY THAT was fun for me! I mean, why wouldn't I want to see I gained 20 pounds since last time?! Just kidding. Last time I went to the doctors, I was 160 lbs. WHOA! And now I'm 154! But the last time I went on the Wii Fit, was way before that. So I was thinking to myself, Well, this is bull!!!. I was crying pretty upset about it. But I was saved by my mother when she said all the stuff I mentioned about the doctors.(Man, that McDonald's Pizza looks AMAZING! I really want to eat that!) So I felt better, and resumed my training on the Wii Fit. No seriously, I really wanna eat McDonald's. This is Matthew, signing out!!!

That's the Wii Fit trainer, In case you didn't know. This picture is 100% true.

AAGH WHY DID I PUT THIS NOW I'M STARVING!!! WHY?!

Also 100% true. NOW Matthew is signing off!

New Year, New Goals

What a difference a year makes!! Wow. It's been a whole year since I started this blog. Hard to believe. Matthew and I have not reached our full goals yet. Matthew is actually more than ten pounds heavier than he was a year ago. However, he is also taller. And 14 lbs less than he was at his last doctor's appointment, so that is awesome. He is really struggling, and I'm having trouble keeping him motivated. He is at 146 lbs, with 26 left to lose. I am down to 132, with 22 lost, and 22 left to lose. Making me halfway there!! So, we have not reached our final goals, however, we are closer now than we were a year ago ;)

Seriously. Look at our one year progress picture up there ^^^!! Now, I am the first to admit that we have really been slacking off lately. Between having an entire extra family here, to my health issues and dental work, it has been craziness. But, the kids go back to school tomorrow, my mouth is feeling much better, my tremor is here to stay, and my extra family is gone for good. So, it is time for a fresh start! I have the Beach Babes DVD with Karina and Katrina from Tone It Up. I also have 4 free hours Monday-Thursday. So, tomorrow I will be popping the DVD in, and checking it out. I still need to figure something out for Matthew. He has a lot more homework this year, but he NEEDS to be exercising as well. Gym class just isn't enough.

Now, last year my goal was to improve my health. And, in that aspect, I was definitely successful. I had a full blood panel done, a CT scan, and an MRI, because of my head tremor. But, the best part is, I am FINALLY after many, many years, getting my teeth fixed. It was very, VERY much needed. It has actually not been too bad. Even my recovery from my wisdom teeth surgery hasn't been THAT bad. And in the end, it is all going to be SO worth it! I am nearly done with all of the dental work, thank goodness. Not all health issues are about weight. I took care of several non weight related things this year, along with learning to eat better and make exercise a priority. So, even without reaching my goal weight, I'm gonna call the last year a success ;)

       Here's to another successful year!!
